Shooting outdoorsThe Taygetos mountain range – 40 km long and 2,407 meter high – is a paradise for nature and landscape photography lovers. The scenery is splendid. Huge plane, oak and pine trees cover the lower slopes of the mountain. Crystal-clear streams flow down to the valley, while flowers, birds and butterflies fill the landscape with colour.
Furthermore, the gorges and the endless olive groves hide small ancient sites, Byzantine churches and monasteries, and traditional villages.

Learning from each other, while enjoying Greek culture and nature is key in this workshop.

Programme
During this workshop we combine daily sessions on technique and composition with practice on various outdoor locations. We use local footpaths to reach churches hidden in caves or tranquil villages. We provide ample time for photography along the way and on location.
After the outdoor sessions we view and discuss the results together in a constructive manner. We end the day with a joint dinner in one of the Xirokambi restaurants.

    Monastery of Golas
  • Sparta - the ancient city and the modern rural town
  • Mystras - Churches and ruins from the heydays of the late Byzantine Empire (13th century AD)
  • Anakolou gorge -  ravine with impressive rock formations; protected nature area
  • Koumousta - mountain village; From here we hike to the Monastery of Golas and back
  • Mani - One of the most impressive areas in Greece with its fascinating landscape and villages dominated by tower houses
  • Walking the olive groves


The workshop starts on Sunday afternoon, and ends on Friday around noon.

In addition to your photo gear, bring walking shoes and a small backpack for our trips to the gorges and slopes of Mount Taygetos.
